Tus Airways, whose air operator certificate was suspended before its first flight due to the resignation of two key executives, said on Thursday it was waiting for the civil aviation department to approve the new appointees before taking to the air.
Due to the suspension, the Larnaca-based company’s first flights to Tel Aviv and Haifa scheduled for February 14, had been cancelled.
The company said that arrangements have been made to accommodate all passengers who had bought tickets.
The airline will be announcing the commencement of flights right after the approval by the Civil Aviation Director.
TUS, an acronym for Τhe Ultimate Schedule, was granted an air operator certificate on October 15, 2015 and a commercial aviation licence in December 2015.
Its fleet is consists of twin-engine SAAB 340 turboprops with a capacity of 34 seats, which can be used to operate medium-range flights.
The airline aimed to connect Cyprus with neighbouring countries via frequent flights on a daily basis, serving both business and leisure travellers.
Other planned destinations included Amman, Cairo, Beirut, Rhodes, Kos, Samos and Karpathos.
